Battery Services

Full battery replacements

We won’t allow you to incur potentially unnecessary cost by replacing like for like without consultation. A lot of clients simply do not need the huge battery that their system was once installed with, we will look at options to offer alternatives, resize or reposition as necessary.

Spot battery replacements

Usually on the back of a failure or service such as impedance testing as mentioned below.

Battery impedance/resistance testing

Similar methods but not the same. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. These may be cost, accessibility or suitability/performance on a given system or simply for reasons of historical comparison. Regardless of the choice, a good indicator of the health of the battery is ascertained this can be and tracked over time and the results shown as a trend that will enable a customer to plan the most cost effective time to head off a potential battery failure.

Battery load testing

(Usually via DC load bank).

Full battery maintenance

A full or part programme consisting of a selection, or the entirety of the above options but also retorquing and full cell and link condition check with retorquing where necessary and the option thermal imaging.

Poor quality or insufficient battery maintenance is not something that any reputable business should consider worth risking. Ultimately any component can pass or fail but it's how a battery fails and the implications for the business that should be front of mind.
At best, the power system detects the problem early and has the capability to raise an alarm - your incumbent service provider or a member of your employee base then arranges the appropriate professionals to attend, the necessary actions are taken and advice given.

In some instances, the battery just fails to support the load during the inevitable power outage.
There are also potentially dangerous high voltage hazards that cannot be seen that might only be uncovered by an attending service engineer.
At the other end of the scale is the battery fire. Typically this can result in business downtime due to fire alarm systems activating, building evacuation and the associated clean up and extinguishant recharge costs.

A misconception a lot of clients have is that a huge number of batteries guarantees system resilience, yet what is not realised is that a single failed block in string of batteries is all it takes to render that entire string as good as useless.

Don’t leave it to chance!!!
